- Sebastian Haller scored twice to give Borussia Dortmund a 3-0 win over Augsburg
- The result means that Edin Terzic’s side will go top of the Bundesliga with a game to spare
- Bayern Munich dropped points on Saturday to give their rivals the edge
Sebastien Haller inspired Borussia Dortmund to a 3-0 win with a stunning brace of goals against Augsburg on Sunday afternoon.
The result means Edin Terzic’s side will overtake Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich at the top of the league standings, with just one game left to play.
Dortmund have not won a league title since the 2011-12 season and goals from Haller and Julian Brandt may have just put them on the verge of ending their league trophy drought.
This comes after their rivals, Bayern, dropped points yesterday in a devastating 3-1 defeat by RB Leipzig, at the Allianz Arena.
After today’s match, Dortmund now lead Thomas Tuchel’s side by two points at the top of the league standings.
For Augsburg, the result leaves them in danger of relegation, with the club sitting two points off VFL Bochum in 16th place, with a game against Borussia Monchengladbach to come next week.
