Boxer Gervonta Davis pleads guilty in hit-and-run crash that injured four people including a pregnant woman… with the controversial star set to be sentenced in May
WBA world lightweight champion Gervonta Davis pleaded guilty to four counts of traffic violations following a hit-and-run incident in November 2020.
The 28-year-old did not take the stand at Thursday’s trial, and has not offered comment since.
Circuit Judge Althea M. Handy said in the guilty plea that Davis did so with the understanding that ‘there was no agreement as to what the sentencing penalty would be.’
His sentencing will take place on May 5.
In the accident, four people sustained various injuries, including a pregnant woman.

Davis pleaded guilty to four counts; leaving the scene of an accident involving bodily injury, driving with a revoked license, running a red light and failure to report property damage.
At approximately 2am on November 5, 2020, Davis – according to the prosecution – drove a Lamborghini under police escort after leaving a nightclub in downtown Baltimore.
At one point, he allegedly veered off the convoy, ran a red light and then hit the passenger side of a 2004 Toyota Solara.
Pregnant Jyair Smith was inside, along with three other passengers. The prosecution alleged that David made eye contact with Smith but did not help him.
There were initial concerns Davis’ most recent fight – an eighth-round win over Hector Luis Garcia in early January – would not go ahead following domestic violence allegations against the Baltimore native.
A woman who identified herself as the mother of boxer Gervonta Davis’ son has dropped domestic violence charges against him following a 911 call she made before his Dec. 27 arrest.
Vanessa Posso released a statement on Instagram Dec. 30, insisting that Davis ‘didn’t hurt me or our daughter.’
According to talkSPORT’s Michael BensonDavis and fellow lightweight sensation, Ryan Garcia, have agreed to meet at a 136lbs catchweight on April 15 in Las Vegas in what will undoubtedly be one of the biggest pay-per-view events of the year.
Although there is currently uncertainty as to whether the match will go ahead nothing has been officially announced.
Davis holds a professional record of 28-0, with 26 of those coming by way of knockout.
