DeAndre Hopkins is RELEASED by Cardinals as franchise avoids MILLION cap hit

DeAndre Hopkins has been RELEASED by the Cardinals as the franchise avoids the $30MILLION cap hit by parting ways with the All-Pro wide receiver

DeAndre Hopkins has been released by the Cardinals, the team announced Friday.

Hopkins would have had a cap hit of $30.7million this season, and the team opted to move on from the All-Pro wideout with newly installed GM Monti Ossenfort rebuilding a squad that went just 4-13 last year.

Arizona will still take a dead salary cap hit of $22.6 million next season before Hopkins’ contract is cleared on the books.
