The hottest ticket in town! Eagles vs 49ers is set to be the NFL’s most expensive conference championship game EVER with an average ticket price of $2,468… while next month’s Super Bowl will cost close to TEN THOUSAND per seat.

Tickets for Sunday’s NFC title game between the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers are on course to go down as the most expensive in NFL conference championship history.

The Eagles and 49ers will battle for a spot in the Super Bowl next month at Lincoln Financial Field, and fans are lining up record sums to get there.

Ticketmaster’s general sale, which represented the cheapest way for shoppers to get a seat, was wiped out within minutes after thousands flocked to the website on Tuesday morning.

Any fans who still want to attend will now have to go through the secondary market, where tickets are averaging a record price of $2,468, according to industry search engine TicketIQ (via Yahoo) .

Ticket IQ president Jesse Lawrence claimed it was the ‘most expensive conference championship game we’ve ever covered’, surpassing the previous record of $1,542 set by last year’s showdown between the 49ers vs Rams.

Secondary inventory for Tuesday’s game is still said to be high, with between 4,000 and 5,000 still available, and if that holds, prices could start to drop before Sunday’s game.

However, inventory could dry up if fans lose patience and snap up what’s available after Ticketmaster’s general sale expires on Tuesday.

For now ticket prices remain high, as Lawrence added: ‘The price of entry has come down a bit, but overall the average is right where it is. [Monday].’

Current admission prices, for the cheapest stadium seats or standing room only, are close to $700 before Tuesday night’s fees.

It’s not just the Eagles vs 49ers game drawing record prices, however, as the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals’ meeting later Sunday night also generates the most expensive average AFC championships tickets tracked by TicketIQ.

Chiefs vs Bengals currently has an average ticket price of $1,218, according to the outlet, and is the fourth highest of any title game.

Super Bowl tickets are also on course for an all-time high with an average of $9,527 per seat

Super Bowl sales are expected to be an all-time high. Tickets for next month’s showpiece at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona are averaging $9,527, though Lawrence expects a drop.

He said: ‘Prices probably won’t stay that high, but if they do it will be the most expensive Super Bowl we’ve ever tracked.’
