The Houston Texans are making Laremy Tunsil the highest-paid offensive lineman in NFL history by giving him a three-year, $75m deal – with a $30m signing bonus!

The Houston Texans have re-signed Laremy Tunsil to a three-year, $75million deal that once again makes him the highest-paid left tackle in NFL history, according to the NFL Network.

Tunsil, 28, who represented himself, got a contract that included a $30 million signing bonus, $50 million fully guaranteed and $60 million in total guarantees, according to the report.

The 13th overall pick of the 2016 draft, who played seven years in the league, now makes more than his San Francisco 49ers counterpart, Trent Williams, who is on a six-year, $138.06million contract with a $55.1million bonus which is guaranteed.

On average, Williams earned $23.01million per season through 2021.

Tunsil’s latest extension with the Texans is the second time the franchise has made its three-time Pro Bowler the highest-paid offensive tackle in the league.

In 2020, the Louisiana native agreed to a three-year, $66million deal with Houston.

Tunsil earned his third Pro Bowl selection in 2022 and started all 17 games. He finished third in All-Pro voting behind New York Giants Andrew Thomas and Williams.

Tunsil’s production last season was also considered among the best in the league, leading an offensive line that allowed just 38 sacks, 14th fewest in the NFL.

The former Ole Miss player was 17th in offensive tackles (91.9 percent), as only one sack and 17 pressures occurred under his presence on the field.

Tunsil made 94 starts in seven seasons with Houston and the Miami Dolphins (2016-18). He was traded from Florida in 2019 for two first-round picks, one second-round pick, Johnson Bademosi and Julien Davenport.

The player’s agreement to a new deal with the Texans comes after the franchise traded wide receiver Brandin Cooks to the Dallas Cowboys for a pair of draft picks.

Houston is now expected to select a rookie quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick in the April draft.
