In a harrowing moment, an advertising hoarding collapsed under the weight of celebrating Manchester United fans at Nottingham Forest – as stewards frantically rushed to help at the City Ground

There were unpleasant scenes at the City Ground as Manchester United fans fell on a collapsed advertising hoarding while celebrating their side’s third goal.

It came after United’s players celebrated after Fernandes headed home from Anthony Elanga’s clever flick in the 89th minute as United ran out 3-0 winners in the first leg.

But as the cameras panned over the celebrations in the stands, United fans rushed down as the advertising hoarding collapsed.

For a moment it looked like it was going to get ugly, but the board was quickly fixed again and the fans did well not to spill onto the pitch.

From the looks of it, the fans appeared to have escaped injury, while stewards rushed to help.

Fernandes’ last-minute strike sealed a convincing win for United to take a three-goal lead back to Old Trafford.
