Scottie Pippen says Michael Jordan was a 'HORRIBLE player' before he arrived at the Bulls

Scottie Pippen trashed Michael Jordan’s status in the NBA, labeling him a ‘terrible player’ before the Jordan-Pippen era, which produced six championships for the Chicago Bulls franchise.

A clip of Pippen arguing with his former friend and teammate while the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer discussed LeBron James went viral on Friday.

The Lakers star became the talk of the town this week after he said, unsolicited, that he was considering retirement after being swept by Denver in the Western Conference Finals.

‘LeBron is going to be the greatest statistical man to ever play basketball,’ Pippen said. ‘And there is no comparison with him, nothing!’

Although, Pippen stopped short of saying that the 38-year-old James is the GOAT

The once terrible couple had their relationship strained by the events of the year

‘So, does that make him the greatest player to ever play the game? I’ll leave that up for debate.

‘I don’t believe there is one great player because our game is a team game and one player can’t do it.’

This led to Jordan’s name being released. Both Pippen and Jordan were part of the most successful seasons in Bulls history, playing alongside each other between 1987-93 and 1995-98.

‘I saw Michael Jordan play before I came to play with the Bulls,’ Pippen added.

‘You see him play, he’s a terrific player. He’s horrible to play with, he’s only one-on-one, he makes bad shots. All of a sudden, we became a team and we started winning, everyone forgot who he was.’

The pair won NBA championships between 1991-93 and 1996-98 as the Bulls combined for two famous three-peats.

Jordan’s son, Marcus, is now dating Pippen’s ex-wife and Real Housewives of Miami star, Larsa

Pippen and his ex-wife were married in 1997 before their divorce was finalized in December 2021

This is not the first time Pippen has criticized MJ. In his memoirs, No guardPippen said he was ‘nothing but a prop’ to Jordan’s The Last Dance documentaries. He added that the NBA legend ‘couldn’t be more condescending if he tried.’

What makes the Jordan-Pippen feud even more intriguing is that MJ’s son Marcus has been dating Pippen’s ex-wife Larsa for a long time.

Jordan Jr. has been dating the Real Housewives of Miami Star since the last months of 2022.

Larsa said in a recent interview with Tamron Hall, she spent ‘a lot of time’ with Jordan and Marcus’ mother, Juanita, who was ‘well into’ the romance.
