UEFA has confirmed that the Euro 2024 tournament will remain a 24-team competition after discussions about allowing 32 teams to enter.
A statement from the governing body confirmed that ‘no changes’ will be made for the tournament hosted in Germany, despite rumors of a revised format.
They also clarified that an updated version of the Nations League will be put in place after the Euros which will feature an extra round for continuity reasons.

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin confirmed the news through a statement from the organization
The UEFA Nations League will be expanded with a new knockout round after 2024, European soccer’s governing body said on Wednesday following a meeting of its executive committee in Nyon, Switzerland.
The knockout round will be played in March and will create continuity between the group phase which ends in November and the Finals in June.
The winners and runners-up of the League A group will participate in the home-and-away format quarter-finals, with the winners qualifying for the final four.
The third-ranked team in League A and the runners-up in League B, as well as the third-ranked League B side and the League C runners-up will play a home-and-away promotion and relegation playoff.
‘By introducing the new knock-out stage, teams will be given more opportunities to progress while keeping the same number of games within the international match calendar,’ said UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin.
